Appointments

For non-urgent issues, please follow the guidelines below and choose the right service. An appointment may not be necessary.

This will help us to be more efficient by making an appointment available to you when you need it the most.

Before booking an appointment

Have you considered seeing a Pharmacist?

Many conditions can be treated without the need to see your GP.

Before you make an appointment, could any of these services provide the support you need?

Urgent Appointment for Today

All same-day appointment requests are reviewed by a GP – if an appointment is required, this will be based on medical need (i.e. today, next few days with own GP or routine).

We ask all patients with online access to submit an online form for urgent/acute medical issues. These are quick to complete and can be submitted from 7am to 5pm.

For children under 6 months old, please continue to phone the Practice.

For urgent issues, you need to be prepared to attend a face-to-face appointment at the practice the same day if this is deemed medically appropriate by the GP.

Ways to book

1. Request an urgent appointment online

2. Telephone: 01442 822468

Book a Routine Appointment

You can book a face-to-face appointment online with your named GP.

If you would prefer a telephone appointment, please put this in the booking notes online and it will be noted on our system for the doctor.

We release our online bookable appointments at varying intervals and we would encourage you to check back should you not see an appointment, on the first time of looking.

Ways to book

Download the NHS App

Alternatively, you can also ring the Surgery and book with one of our Patient Services Coordinators.

It is recommended you ring after 3pm as generally these are our quieter times.

Extended Access

We also have extended access available. See our Out of Hours information.

Nurse Appointments

We are unable to release nurse slots online due to the complexity and variety of appointments offered by the nursing team.

How to Book

Blood Test Appointments

We are unable to release blood tests online as blood test appointments must be requested by a GP.

For information on how to get the results of tests undertaken at the surgery please see our test results page

We are also no longer able to perform blood tests for patients under the age of 11 years old. These will need to be completed at the paediatric phlebotomy service at a local hospital.

Blood tests requested by a hospital clinician need to be undertaken using the hospital phlebotomy services. It will be up to the hospital to communicate the results of the tests they requested.

First Contact Physiotherapy Appointments

We offer Musculoskeletal (MSK) assessments through our first contact physiotherapists (FCP). Our FCPs primary role is to assess and manage complex and undiagnosed MSK pain. FCP appointments are 20 minutes long. FCPs can request blood tests and x-rays and in some cases, they can offer a steroid injection for pain management. FCPs can help you with, arthritis, muscle problems, soft tissue injuries, spinal problems etc.

An FCP does not provide ongoing physiotherapy, but they can refer you to the community physiotherapy service if they feel this is appropriate.

Ways to book

1. Download the NHS App

2. Request an appointment online

3. Telephone: 01442 822468

If you contact us for a GP appointment but we believe an FCP could provide you with the care you need, we will suggest this to you.

Sickness Certificates (Fit Notes)

You must give your employer a doctor's 'fit note' (sometimes called a 'sick note') if you've been ill for more than 7 days in a row and have taken sick leave. This includes non-working days, such as weekends and bank holidays.

Home Visits

Please be aware that our GPs will always call to assess the home visit request first.

If you need a home visit, you can help us by calling our Patient Services Team before 10:30am.

You will normally be allocated a telephone consultation initially to assess your clinical needs, and if a home visit is deemed necessary, a doctor or our paramedic practitioner will visit you at an agreed time following this.
