Purple Star
Accredited

eQUALITY for people with
learning disabilities

We are very proud to have been re-accredited with the Purple Star for 2 Years, until June 2026. Our team are committed to overcoming barriers and making reasonable adjustments.

What is Purple Star Accreditation?

The Purple Star is a trademark given to primary care settings who demonstrate the delivery of high quality, reasonably adjusted services to adults with learning disabilities across Hertfordshire, in line with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010.

The presence of a Purple Star indicates that a defined set of standards, as set out in the Purple Star Promise, have been achieved and are consistently being maintained by the service the Purple Star has been awarded to.

The Purple Star brand was created in 2014 by Hertfordshire Community Learning Disability Services, through the Health Liaison Team at Hertfordshire County Council. It was developed in partnership with people with learning disabilities, their supporters, and the University of Hertfordshire Business School.

Patient Advocates

We know that patients with learning disabilities or severe mental health conditions may need extra support.

Our Patient Advocates can help these patients, and their carers navigate the health care system and tell us about any adjustments they need to make things easier.

Our four Patient Services team leaders are Patient Advocates and are here to help.

We send a letter to each patient explaining how our Patient Advocates can assist.
