The guidelines that we follow are as per Infection Prevention Control and Hertfordshire and West Essex Integrated Care System, both CQC compliant.
Legislative and national IPC guidance provides a unified, evidence-based framework for preventing and managing infections across all health and care settings in England.
It ensures consistent standards and practices to protect patients, staff and the public.
The guidelines set are to ensure the below guidelines and recommendations are met.

Our IPC policy is reviewed annually or ad-hoc if guideline recommendations change or outbreaks are established.
As a Surgery, we carry out daily, weekly, monthly and annual audits that include:
- Daily Environmental cleaning schedule for treatment and clinical rooms
- Weekly Clinical Fridge Cleans – Minimum once weekly with Vaccine count/rotation
- Weekly Non Clinical Fridge Cleans – Minimum once weekly Clean and disposal of food/ opened bottles etc
- Legionnaires – Weekly running of taps in Sluice, Cleaners cupboard and Clinical Store room
- Monthly Hand Hygiene Audit
- Monthly Room Decontamination Audit
- PPE monthly compliance Audit
- 6 Monthly Clinical Curtain changes (dated) as per CQC
- Annual IPC policy review (Inc Minor Ops)
- Annual Isolation Policy review

All clinical staff are required to complete IPC mandatory training updates annually. Non clinical staff are required to complete Bi Annually.
